Jewish Catholic Interfaith Wedding Ceremony

Jewish Catholic Interfaith Wedding Ceremony

For the last 30+ years, The Wedding Connection has been planning and coordinating events all over the Bay area, Santa Cruz County, Monterey Bay, and Carmel Valley. One of their venues, Rancho Soquel, is a beautiful private estate that gives the impression of being out in the country, yet there's a Spanish Hacienda-type feeling of old historic California in the buildings. Soquel Creek runs through the property, and a wooden footbridge connects the two parcels. It’s one of those dreamy Santa Cruz wedding venues that simply takes your breath away! It was the perfect location for Hannah & Hayden’s Jewish Catholic interfaith wedding ceremony. Their ceremony took place on one of those terrifically hot July days. I was grateful to be standing under the handmade Chuppah with the couple because of the shade that it provided for us. Their guests weren’t as lucky!

The couple asked me to include various symbols, readings, and rituals in their Jewish Catholic interfaith wedding ceremony as way of honoring their families and traditions, maintaining continuity through the generations, and affirming the important and enduring role of religious faith in their lives. But rather than just throwing a bunch of unintegrated rituals into Hannah & Hayden’s Jewish Catholic interfaith wedding ceremony, I wanted to understand why each individual component was meaningful to them. I asked them A LOT of questions so that I could understand the motivation behind their choices, and include that richness and dimensionality in their Jewish Catholic interfaith wedding ceremony. This brought a depth of meaning and relevance to the ceremony that everyone really appreciated.

In addition to including various interfaith rituals in their Jewish Catholic interfaith wedding ceremony, I told Hannah and Hayden’s love story - from how they met, to the academically and professionally ambitious millennials who, together, could do anything they set their minds to.

Blake Weber of Blake Weber Photography did an excellent job of capturing the beauty!

Naomi was a wonderful part of our wedding. It is difficult to put into words how much we appreciate her and how much she made our day special. Numerous family members and friends approached us following the ceremony and even 2 weeks after the wedding to RAVE about how elegant, beautiful, and meaningful the ceremony was. This is due to the hard work of Naomi and her ability to get to know us as a couple and weave together a beautiful interfaith ceremony. I am forever grateful to have met Naomi and for the beautiful gift she gave us in crafting an amazing ceremony for our wedding day. I recommend her highly!
