LGBTQ Wedding Ceremony Photo Blog

I’ve had the honor of officiating many wedding ceremonies for LGBTQ couples. It’s always so joyful when a community comes together in support of a couple to celebrate their love! In this blog I’ll be sharing photos, “ceremony snippets” and vignettes from various LGBTQ wedding ceremonies I’ve officiated. The epic, dreamy photos below are just the tip of the iceberg, featuring wedding photos by Joshua Rose, Nadeen Sparks, Sand and Stone Media and De Joy Photography!

High school sweethearts Shannon and Nicole had a destination micro wedding at Wind & Sea Estate in Big Sur. Their ceremony honored the memories, the mistakes, the milestones, and the magic… along with the growth, maturation, endurance, stories and surprises that made up their 11.5 year relationship. Here is what Shannon had to say about the ceremony: “I do not even know how to begin thanking you - guests came up to us all night to tell us that your ceremony was the most beautiful/meaning full ceremony they have ever heard. Wow, you have a way with words. Thank you so much for helping making our day and moment so absolutely amazing.”

Flavia and Chelsea
Cuffy’s Cove Mendocino

Flavia and Chelsea are two talented, inspiring women! A doctor and an artist who love their two dogs, retail therapy trips to Costco, and rollerskating in the house. Here’s a snippet from their custom wedding ceremony at Cuffy’s Cove in Mendocino: “This ceremony celebrates an epic, transcontinental, love story: a meeting in New York, moving to California, first official date in Amsterdam, double proposal in Taormina, life-changing love story. It’s a story that tastes like candied hibiscus and second dinners post-partying, and that smells like horses, and the sea. Like all good love stories it has plot twists and passion, and an East Coast Maxinista named Barbara. It’s the story of a Sicilian Scorpio and Hawaiian Aquarian, of the thresholds they’ve crossed together, and the one they’re about to cross today!”

Ashlee and Amy
Garrapata State Park Big Sur

Amy and Ashlee traveled to Big Sur together in 2019 to celebrate Ashlee’s graduation (PhD in forensic psychology!) and fell in love with its endless beauty. So they decided to come back to Big Sur together in July 2022 to elope! They rented a yellow convertible and got married on the bluffs at Garrapata State park overlooking the Pacific ocean. Here’s what Ashlee had to say: ""Naomi was lovely! I cannot say enough about the way she was able to make our ceremony feel uniquely ours. Her words were poetic and well thought out - we really felt cared for. Could not recommend Santa Cruz Officiant more."

Heidi & Melissa
Leal Vineyards and Winery

Melissa and Heidi had met on several occasions, over many years, before they finally connected. They fell in love when both of them least expected it, and it was immediate. They knew it was a “forever thing” from the start, and never had a doubt that they would spend forever together. They had a stellar vendor team including: De Joy Photography, Live Love Leal, and Deluxe+Design+Decor. About their ceremony Melissa wrote, "My wife and I considered having a close friend officiate for us, but after speaking to Naomi on the phone, we knew we had to have her officiate for us. Best decision we made, hands down!"
